It was lovely to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. (even though a huge forest extends to our windows!) There's just something about taking a hike around a lake and crossing a very high suspension bridge and splashing in clear green pools of water that does a soul good.

Lynn Valley Canyon
Dave finally had an extra day off from the 8 hours of Greek he's been studying each day and we decided to take advantage of it and head out to Lynn Valley. Located about an hour's drive north from where we live, this canyon is one of those little treasures that British Columbia has all over the Provence.

We left right after breakfast so poor Jos didn't get her nap in and refused to sleep in the car except when we pulled into the park. So, she was a little dazed throughout the day, but loved being in the woods, and on her Dada's back.
I was remembering that I used to spend entire summers outdoor doing things like this. But then I was reminded why we are able to go only once in a while. It's because I look like this.
29 weeks prego. Only 11 more to go. That water looked appealing believe me, but it was chilly and welll, maybe in my previous lifetime I would have jumped right it. But for now, I take pictures.
Josie was a little upset she couldn't jump in this lake either.
We spent a lot of time holding our little explorer.
Because, believe me, if she had a chance, she'd be right in the water!
On our way back we found out that others were enjoying some cliff jumping into that glorious clear water. BRRRRR.
But as for us, lunch and naps were calling so we made our way home. First heading to the Ecology Center to play with a couple puppets. Josie's favorite animal sound is a cow, so she was all over talking to this cow puppet!

i love the picture of you grabbing josie's shirt as she lunges forward. i do this probably 10-20 times a day to micah. it's amazing how fearless kids are, or maybe they just realize how amazing that water would feel!!
